AWC “Taking It Back To Tulsa” in 2011
The 2011 AWC National Conference will be held in Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 13-15, at the Doubletree Tulsa at Warren Place Hotel. The conference program entitled, “Navigating the Communications Highway,” will provide you with a practical and useful road map for getting from A-to-Z in the field of communications. Whether you are on the advanced track or just starting out, you will find something in Tulsa that will help kick-up your communication skills!
The conference begins Thursday afternoon, Oct. 13, with AWC Connects Members, the AWC National Business Meeting, and the welcome reception. Designed for chapter leaders and anyone considering a leadership role, AWC Connects fosters sharing of ideas and opportunities, as well as problem solving amongst chapters and within the national organization. An added bonus for AWC Connects is special guest Shawne Duperon, the opening keynote speaker for the conference on Friday morning. She will present a mini-workshop on Embracing Leadership in a Diverse Economy. The AWC Business Meeting is open to all members and will offer information on the latest developments within the national organization.
On Friday and Saturday, attendees will enjoy two full days of featured speakers and creative breakout sessions. Saturday evening, AWC will present the prestigious Clarion Awards at the International Matrix & Clarion Awards Dinner. Other networking opportunities include an evening at Tulsa’s Hard Rock Cafe and a Wine and Cheese tasting in the historic, centrally located Brady District.
